Buzzer apps compared: price, and what happens to your data
Checked 30 September 2026 · Every quote links to its sourceBuzzMeBro is not the cheapest way to make your buzzer ring more than one phone. It is $9.99 a month for the apartment, and you can get a number that rings your roommates for $4. So here are the prices, side by side, with the one thing a price does not tell you: what each company has written down about your household’s data.
What $9.99 a month buys
A buzzer service holds the mobile number of every adult in your home, your address and unit, and a log of when your door opens. BuzzMeBro is a Toronto company paid by subscription and nothing else, and its privacy policy commits to three things.
- Never soldYour phone numbers, your address and your door log are never sold, rented, licensed or traded. Not to advertisers, data brokers, landlords or anyone else.
- Never used to train AINot our own models and not anybody else’s. No AI company gets your household’s data from us, at any price.
- Not even if we are boughtIf BuzzMeBro is ever sold, your phone numbers, address and door log are deleted before the sale. A buyer never gets them.
We read the privacy policies of 9 other buzzer services. None of them has all three in writing.

Prices are each company’s own published prices, in the currency they state, for the plan closest to a shared apartment. “Not mentioned” means exactly that: the policy is silent, so nothing has been promised either way.
What this does and does not show
None of these policies says the company sells your data. FreshBuzzer, Ringo and Buzmi say they do not, and that is printed above. If price is all you are weighing, several of them are good value and some have features BuzzMeBro does not.
What it shows is what each company has left itself free to do later. Small apps get bought, merged and shut down, and three of these policies say in plain words that your information is an asset that goes to the buyer. A promise that stops at the sale of the company stops at the moment it matters most. BuzzMeBro deletes your data before a sale, so there is nothing for a buyer to get.

Questions people ask
Why does BuzzMeBro cost more than FreshBuzzer or Condo Buzzer?
The subscription is the only thing BuzzMeBro is paid for. It runs no advertising, sells no data, and its privacy policy commits that it never will. If the company is ever sold, customer data is deleted first. The price is what makes that possible.
Do the cheaper buzzer apps sell your data?
None of their published policies says so, and some say they do not. What differs is what the policies leave open. Several state that user information is an asset that transfers to whoever buys the company, and most say nothing about AI training.
Does BuzzMeBro sell my data or use it to train AI?
No. BuzzMeBro’s privacy policy says your personal information is never sold, rented, licensed or traded, is never used to train AI models, and is deleted before any sale of the company, so a buyer never gets it.
