About BuzzMeBro

Last updated 6 October 2026 · BuzzMeBro, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

BuzzMeBro gives an apartment its own local phone number for the lobby buzzer, so a buzz rings every phone in the home at once instead of one person’s. We are a small company in Toronto.

Who runs it

BuzzMeBro is a registered business in Canada, operating from Toronto, Ontario. It was founded by Jeff von den Baumen. We serve renters and condo owners in Toronto and the GTA and in Greater Vancouver.

Our own door

BuzzMeBro has run on our founder’s own Toronto apartment door since August 2026. It is where we test every change before it reaches a customer: a visitor buzzes, both phones in the apartment ring, one of us answers and presses the digit that opens the door. When our guides describe how a buzz reaches a phone, why a door sometimes does not open on the first press, or what to send a building, that comes from building and running the service there, or from the published sources the guide lists.

How we write our guides

Each guide answers one question renters actually ask, and puts the answer first. This is how they are made:

  • Drafts are written with AI assistance in our own working sessions and checked before they go live. Nothing is published automatically.
  • Every fact is checked against the sources listed at the bottom of the guide. We use primary sources wherever they exist: the panel maker’s manual, the regulator, the law itself, the carrier’s own notice. Each guide shows the date its facts were last checked.
  • First-hand notes, under “From our own door”, come only from our own apartment and our own product. We do not invent customers, quotes or tests.
  • We sell a paid fix for the problems these guides describe, and every guide says so plainly. We also cover the free ways to solve them.
  • We do not name or compare other companies.
  • Guides about leases and tenant rights are general information, not legal advice. They link to the official tenancy bodies in Ontario and British Columbia.

Corrections

If something in a guide is wrong or out of date, email support@buzzmebro.com with the page and what needs fixing. We check it against the source, correct the guide, and change its date.
